Course Description

This course introduces students to app development using Thunkable, a no-code platform. Through hands-on projects, students learn to create a variety of apps, from a password generator to a multimedia player and weather prediction app. Each lesson covers core concepts such as variables, events, conditionals, and APIs, equipping students with the skills to design and develop functional, user-friendly mobile applications.

Curriculum Outline 

Lesson 1: SafeCode Generator App
Build an app that generates strong, secure passwords while learning about variables, events, and conditionals to enhance security awareness.

Lesson 2: Art Attack
Create a drawing app using the Canvas component, exploring events and interactive design to allow users to make digital art.

Lesson 3: Portfolio App
Design a personalized portfolio app with an engaging user interface, incorporating events and error handling for seamless navigation.

Lesson 4: Let's Connect App
Develop a basic chat app with a dynamic user interface, using Google Firebase to enable real-time data storage and communication.

Lesson 5: Tunify
Create a multimedia app that plays songs, videos, and displays artist info via Wikipedia, using Web Viewer and external links for multimedia integration.

Lesson 6: Gravity Quest
Build a science app that demonstrates gravity effects on different objects and planets, using variables, lists, and sprite animations for a fun, educational experience.

Tangible Outcome

Upon completing this course, students will have created multiple functional apps, including a password generator, drawing tool, multimedia player, weather app, and a basic chat application. They will gain practical knowledge of app design, database integration, and working with APIs, preparing them for further exploration in mobile app development.
